"Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year"......as I write this, we are on the second day of "Bandh"...one more day to go tomorrow. What is a successful "Bandh" ? Terrorize the general public, burn a few vehicles that defied the "order" and beat up security personnel on duty...deprive the daily wage earner of their meals.....this is Kathmandu today !

You have just started facing this problem with the coming of the Maoist.
We have been facing this problem in Bengal since 1967 when the CPM started gaining power here..
On an average, we have one bandh every two months either by the CPM left front or by Mamta Banerjee.
However, now that Mamta is expecting to become CM of Bengal, we expect she will behave more responsibly and there will be fewer bandhs from her side.

I showed The Greeting to Manju.
It has been a pleasant year and God has been kind to my family.
He has given us a granddaughter with whom I and Manju are kept busy.
I especially like to take her to the park and see her antics.
Yes, we should thank God for giving us grand children to make our lives so much more interesting and fulfilling.
On the 1st January Shalini will give us our second grand child and then we will really be kept busy.
I hope you, Myrna and children and grand children are all well there.
