Headley should be tried in the USA only

India will seek Headley's extradition: Home secretary

IANS | New Delhi

India will seek access for the interrogation and extradition of US national and terror suspect David Coleman Headley after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) completes its probe into his links with the 26/11 attack.

"National Investigation Agency has been investigating. They will continue and will seek access for interrogation and extradition of Headley," Home Secretary G.K. Pillai told reporters here.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has chargesheeted Headley, alias Daood Gilani, for conducting "extensive surveillance of targets in Mumbai for more than two years" preceding the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai in which 166 people were killed.

I would rather have our Indian agencies interrogate Headley in the USA and collect whatever information they desire.
Our judicial system is so slow and with the political compulsions of vote bank politics, he will never be punished in India.
Then, probably some other terrorists will hijack a plane and demand his release.
Then whatevever information is extracted, will be leaked through the electronic media as "Breaking News".
No, it is better if Headley is tried and punished in USA.
It will be faster and unbiased.
