New Delhi:

Playing down reports of increasing Chinese incursions along the border between the countries, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said that there is no reason for concern and that the issue was being hyped in the media.

Talking to reporters at an Iftar party at his residence here this evening, Singh said there was no reason for concern as there are no inputs that suggest anything serious happening along the border. This comes amid reports in a section of the media of “aggressive incursions” and even firing by Chinese troops along the border that have been denied by the government.

The PM said that Chinese Ambassador Zhang Yan met National Security Adviser M K Narayanan and they had a “good discussion.” Singh also said that he was in contact with the highest levels in China.

The Prime Minister suggested that the government information system could be at fault for failing to convey that there was nothing wrong on the Chinese border, thus leading to the media hype, and said that the lacunae would soon be corrected.

After Krishna it is the turn of Man Mohan to assure the people. Man Mohan is another name of Lord Krishna.
The defence minister in 1962 was also a Krishnna - Menon.
Why is it that all these Krishnas assure and then fail.
I have no confidence in Man Mohan's word.
He is a default PM, by virtue of abdication by Sonia.
He will remain to warm the seat until Rahul is ready to take over.
We would rather have the infrastructure in our areas bordering China to be strengthened. The news item of the reopening of the Nyoma air-strip was more reassuring than all of S M Krishna and Man Mohan singh;s homilies.
But that was only one air strip.
What if the Chinese bombed it in the first attack.
Our air force would be paralysed.
No, we have to have a complete range of air strips and all weather roads for patrolling our borders.
Our northern neighbour is even more untrustworthy than our western neightbour, and, is also more powerful.
We have to be extra vigilant and be prepared 24/7 for we know not when it will attack.
The present incursions are just probes to check our reactions.
If we continue to play them down like Nehru did when he repeated like a parrot, Hindi-Chini Bhai bhai after Chou En Lai, we will again regret it.
