Kidnappers should be executed

Class 1 student kidnapped in Patna

Patna, Sep 14 : A Class 1 student was kidnapped at gunpoint in the heart of the Bihar capital while on his way to school Monday morning, police said.

Six-year-old Shreya, whose father works for a private firm, is a student of Christ Church School. He was kidnapped near the Maurya hotel here when three armed men overtook the autorickshaw he was going to school in and forced the driver to stop, a police officer said.

"We have detained the driver of the autorickshaw and interrogated him to collect more information about the incident," Superintendent of Police (Patna) Manu Maharaj said.

The driver told police that criminals threatened to kill the boy in the autorickshaw and forced him to stop the vehicle. Later, they kidnapped the boy.

According to police, a special team has begun investigation into the case. "Police have raided several places in and around Patna to recover the boy but there is no breakthrough as of now," another police officer said.

The boy's family said they have not yet received any ransom call from the abductors. But police suspect it was a case of kidnapping for ransom.

In the last 10 days, several cases of kidnapping have been reported across Bihar.

This is what I meant in my last blog post when I said kidnappers should receive the death sentence.
You may imagine the condition of the boy's parents, until he comes back.
And you never know. As in previous cases, his dead body may be found.
As I said, such crimes require the criminals to be executed, if we are to deter them.
