Mr. Len Goodwin

Dear Friends,

I am saddened to have to pass on the news of the sudden death of Len, Husband of Mary (D'Cruz) Goodwin. Many will remember Mary from her teaching days in Goethals.

Last Sunday I received an e-mail from Mary (below) and you can imagine the shock to receive the news.

I was privileged to have met Len, a Gentleman to the core.I am sure you will want to pass on your condolences to Mary and her Family.

Hi Matt

Thanks for all your emails. Enjoyed them. Had good laughs.

Just to let you know that Len will be having Heart surgery on next Thursday 03/09.We go into M'bourne on Wednesday. He is having the Mitral valve changed or repaired. He has opted to have Keyhole surgery so the recovery time will be halved. Say a prayer for him. He is in good shape so there should be no problems.

Hope you and Myrna are well. I will be staying in Melbourne with my sister in Brighton. Will be there for about a week.

All the best to your boys

Mary

Subject: SAD NEWS

Hi Matt and Saf
It is with a heavy heart that I give you the sad news that Len Goodwin husband of Mary (D'Cruz)Goodwin passed away at the Epworth Hospital yesterday 05 September. He has had heart problems in the past but was not unwell; he had come to Melbourne for a (minor) corrective surgical process because they were planning to go away on holiday later this year. There were complications following the surgery from which he did not recover.

Please keep Mary in your thoughts and prayers. She will be returning to Tatura this evening accompanied by a friend who will remain with her until her son Richard arrives in Australia (Thursday). The funeral will be on Friday 11 September.

Here are Mary's details:
18 Thompson St
Tatura Vic. 3616
+613 5824 2524

Matt - can you please pass the news on to Errol Ackoy because I don't have his current details.

Regards
Jeff Knight
Dear Mrs Goodwin,

I was shocked to hear from Sir, Mr. Lobo of the sad news.
It seems just the other day we met in Goethals and you seemed so happy.
My wife, who also met you, was also extremely disturbed to hear the news.
Death is one thing over which we have no control.
God has a time arranged for all of us but he never takes the blame.
The blame is all showered on frail human beings.
Now, we must all be wondering that if he had not undergone the surgery, this would not have happened.
But that could not possibly have happened as God had arranged everything to happen as He desired.
I wish you strength and peace in your hour of sorrow and shall remember you in our prayers,

Radheshyam
