MNS threatens to stall SBI recruitment process

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Saturday threatened to disturb the recruitment process of the State Bank of India (SBI) if local candidates are not given preference in the recruitment. The threat comes a day before a written exam is being conducted by the SBI for 1,100 clerical posts in Maharashtra.
"Only those candidates who can produce their Maharashtra domicile certificates should be allowed to appear for the exam. Apart from that, there should be a condition that the candidate must have appeared for an exam in Marathi language in his/her standard X," MNS MLA Bala Nandgaonkar demanded in a letter to the SBI.
Interestingly, the advertisement published by the SBI for the recruitment nearly three months ago had clearly mentioned that the candidate must know Marathi as the recruitment will be done only for Maharashtra. Around three lakh candidates are expected to appear for the SBI exam on Sunday at centres across the state.
An MNS official, Sandeep Deshpande, threatened an agitation in the party's distinctive style if their demand was not met. "We will not allow the SBI to continue its recruitment process if they ignore our legitimate demand," he said.
The general manager of SBI, Shririam Lele, said that he did not have the authority to take any decision on this matter. "Only the Union government can issue any such directives to the SBI. I can only convey the MNS' demand to our management," he said.
"Our men will be deployed at each exam centre as per the procedure. Nobody will be spared if they try to disturb the exam," said a senior officer from the Mumbai police.
The MNS had disrupted the exam held by the Railway Recruitment Board in October last year. They had beaten up north Indian candidates and torn their hall tickets at Thane, Dombivali and Kalyan. After this incident, the railways had announced that they would conduct the exams for recruitment outside Maharashtra.
I would suggest that the centre stop exams of all PSU from being held in Maharashtra where candidates can be posted anywhere in India.
I have said it earlier, if the imbecile Raj Thackeray in not controlled immediately, the Congress is creating another Bhindarwala.
It was Indira Gandhi's policy of trying to break the Akali Dal's vote bank which made her create Bhindarwala. When he became uncontrollable, she had to undertake "Opeartion Blue Star" This angered the Sikhs which resulted on her killing by her own security guards who were Sikhs. This was followed by the massacre of not less than 3000 sikhs and Rajiv Gandhi's infamous statement "When a big tree falls..."
At least Manmohan Singh, being a Sikh, should understand the dangerous path the Congress is following. Or will it take the killing of another Gandhi, this time probably Rahul, to make them realize their folly of "divide and rule" policy.
