Abhishek Sanghvi on Koda

Congress cannot be blackmailed by Koda: Singhvi

New Delhi: Dismissing former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda's threat to "reveal names behind the conspiracy" to book him in a money laundering case, Congress today said it cannot be blackmailed by him.

Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said the party had maintained that law would take its course in the Koda case and he is being prosecuted by the Congress regimes, both at the Centre and the state.

"Congress has nothing to hide, but equally, we cannot be smudged and (our) reputation maligned," Singhvi said.

"Jumping to hasty conclusions on the basis of pre-conceived diary entries. What happened in the Jain Hawala Case is a judicial precedent....the entire thing was squashed and nothing came out of it," he told a television channel.

Singhvi was reacting to queries on Koda's comments that he would come out with the names of persons in the Congress party who were trying to fix him in the money laundering case.

Language is a very funny thing,
When you say one thing, you actually mean another.
When Singhvi says that the Congress cannot be blackmailed, it means, it has already been blackmailed and brow-beaten to go slow on Koda.
When a politician says "the law will take its own course", I am very wary of it. It means all investigations will be scuttled.
We have seen the result time and again when "the law was allowed to take its own course"
NOTHING HAPPENED.
His giving the example of the Jain Hawala case is very appropriate.
That investigation too was scuttled by the politicans as mentioned in an earlier post by Rajinder Puri to Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.
If the congress was genuinely interested in prosecuting, it should immediately publish all diary entries and also all the data the Enforcement Directorate had collected against Koda.
No they won't.
They will haggle for the price to keep their mouths shut or wait for the assembly results to see how many seats Koda and his gang wins.
The CBI and the Enforcement Directorate both report to the centre and have been known to change their versions to suit their masters.
I would suggest a PIL be filed in the Supreme Court for the ED and CBI to submit all the data colected so far so that they are not manipulated by the Congress party and the Supreme Court should follow the investigation.
We have no confidence in the centre on the congress party.
