The Congress's Halo exposed

Congress poll plank: Action against corrupt politicians

Cong poll plank: Action against corrupt politicians Madhu Koda and his cabinet colleagues Enos Ekka and Harinarayan Rai, who are languishing in jail, the Congress party has decided to make it one of their major poll planks.

Former MLA and party spokesman Radha Krishna Kishore said, "During the election, the party will inform the voters about the misdeeds of corrupt ministers and how prompt the party was to take action against them."

The decision was taken at a meeting of the party held at its local headquarters on Monday.

Most of the ministers during the last five years were involved in corrupt practices but no government dared to take any action. "We will inform the voters how three subsequent government--first the BJP followed by Koda and Shibu Soren protected these ministers and promoted corrupt people," said Kishore.

"It was only after the President's rule was imposed that the Congress-led government at the Center initiated action against the corrupt minister," he added.

He also cited example of action taken by the government on other corrupt people and implementation of public-oriented centrally sponsored schemes.

Defending the Congress, which had supported both Koda and Soren governments, saying that the on those two occasions the party was not directly in power, he said, "We would make people understand how serious the party is against corruption and this was the reason behind its decision to disassociate from Koda and Soren government," said Kishore.

The party leaders also decided to intensify campaigning in all the assembly constituencies from Tuesday. "We promise the voters of the state to give a transparent and people-friendly government that will take Jharkhand on roads to development for which the voters have been waiting since the time of creation of a tribal state by bifurcating Bihar," added Kishore.

How short can people's memories be? And it is even shorter if you are a politician.
It was the Congress party which installed Koda as Chief Minister to keep away the BJP from power in Jharkhand.
Now it is making a virtue of necessity hoping that the people will forget their blunder.
Not that the BJP is any better.
Jharkand was a state formed with a clean slate along with Uttarkand and Chattisgarh. Being rich in natural resources, if they had worked honestly, it could have become the most prosperous state in India. However having been used to the corrupt Bihari culture they adapted very fast and absorbed all the bad points of Bihar until now they are worse than Bihar. On the other hand Bihar is improving after Nitish Kumar taking reins.
Here you have a predominantly adivasi state ruled by adivasis and yet the benefits could not trickle down to them. They remain where they were earlier except for the few who got connected with political parties and contractors and so could enrich themselves.
Koda, Shibu Soren, Marandi, Munda.. they are all the same.
Even the governor was involved.
Whom do you trust?
Swami Ramdeo and his Bharat Swabhiman is the only solution for cleaning the rot which has set in these politicians.
