The British introduced the system of transfers
and posting in government service with a purpose.
They did not want the government servant to become
too familiar with the general population as familiarity breeds contempt.
Further stay at any place for extended period lead to corruption.
Hence they started the system of transfers every three years.
But this same transfers and postings have become a source of corruption.
Now, politicians, instead of doing their work are more
interested in controlling T & P.
In any government posting, the place of posting carries a price.
I have a relative who is in government service.
I won’t name the state of department as all that is immaterial.
All government posts are breeding house of corruption.
He informs that all posts are auctioned and the person who
gets into the post has to get back his investment.
Hence he resorts to corrupt practices.
If the government is serious of rooting out corruption,
it should immediately declare that no minister should
have a hand in transfers and posting.
All transfers and postings should be randomly computer
generated and not auctioned.
Will the government do it?
I doubt.
From top to bottom all of them are steeped in corruption.
Congress, CPM, BJP, SP, BSP, DMK,AIDMK, SHIV SENA
Name the party, they are involved.
