Stones pelted at dais during Aam Aadmi Party leader Shazia Ilmi's rally

Stones pelted at dais during Aam Aadmi Party leader Shazia Ilmi's rally

Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh: Unidentified men raised slogans in support of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and pelted stones at the dais during an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rally addressed by Shazia Ilmi in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday.

She was addressing the rally in support of AAP candidate from Mandsaur-Neemuch Lok Sabha seat Paras Saklecha.

As she began criticising Mr Modi, the unidentified men started raising slogans in support of Mr Modi and later pelted stones towards the dais, forcing her to stop her speech.

Later, AAP workers and police chased the men but they managed to flee the spot.

After the rally, Ilmi, along with AAP workers, marched towards Kotwali police station, filed a complaint and demanded registration of a case against BJP workers.

Ilmi told reporters that if they had guts they should come in front and throw stones, and that they should feel ashamed about pelting stones at a woman.

Superintendent of Police Pankaj Dixit said that after watching the video-recording of the event and CCTV footage, legal action would be taken in the matter.

AAP's district convener Amit Sharma claimed that anti-social elements of both the BJP and the Congress were involved in the incident.

In a press release, the AAP claimed that some party workers had earlier blocked Ilmi's car earlier and raised slogans of 'har har Modi'.

The party also claimed that policemen refused to take any action during the incident and registered a FIR only after a demonstration by AAP workers.

The BJP has really become desperate if they have started attacking second rund AAP leaders. Although the media may not be giving much prominence to AAP for obvious reasons but the ground realities are different as ath common man wants the AAP, hence the insecurity.
