Warning BSNL Users

I have just received this message from Ranjan Guha Mazumdar.
It seems that since BSNL is losing out in the competition with the private players like Bharti, Rcomm and Idea, they have resorted to underhand means to increase their revenue. Read on.

HELPFUL ADVISE FOR BSNL Mobile Users

Those of you who are using BSNL’s Mobile Services, please IMMEDIATELY de-activate (although the process has been deliberately made complicated) the default Caller Tune (illegally and un-authorisedly pumped-into the network, reportedly by ERICSSON,, maybe with the connivance of CGM, Calcutta Telephones, because after few days these guys are automatically updating your computer data showing that you had actually activated this service. That is not all. Don’t be shocked if you (post-paid subscribers) receive a bill showing PRBT (caller Tune) charges as many as 15 times in a single month although assuming that you had activated any Caller Tunes, you should be billed @ Rs. 20 per month only. Having received such a bill you have no other option but to pay the same or face dis-connection. Appeals to the authority as usual will fall on deaf ears and you have to literally run from pillar-to-post to get a rebate or what ever.

The scandal is so serious that even after de-activating, the same default Caller Tune (a stupid one at that) will get quietly re-introduces one fine day un-known to you and unless you are careful, you land in soup anyway.

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE. This is a major scandal being perpetrated by BSNL top brass on the gullible Mobile Subscribers. BEWARE ! I have taken-up the matter with CGM as well as their CMDA and other high officials in Delhi including TRAII

Request to Radheshyam Sharma : Please put this WARNING on your Blog to caution all Ex-Goethalites.
