Sacred Space - Eat Well

The control of the palate is a valuable aid for the control of the mind. - M.K.Gandhi
The palate is the ideal starting point for getting some mastery over your senses. You have three, four maybe more opportunities a day : breakfast, lunch, dinner and any number between-meal snacks. No need talk of fasting, or strange diets. Just move away from foods that don't benefit your health and begin choosing foods that do. With this simple resolution, you'll strength your will, and deepen your meditatio. - Eknath Easwaran.

Mindfulness is simply the moment-by-moment awareness of life. But it's not always so simple. We so easily get caught up in our own thoughts and self-talk that we are scarcely aware of life as it passes us by. This is very true of our eating. We eat meal after meal, snack after snack, barely aware of what we're eating and how much we're consuming. - The Camp System

When we are mindful, we recognise what we are picking up. When we put it into our mouth, we know what we are putting into our mouth. When we chew it, we know what we are chewing. It's very simple. - Thich Nhat Hanh
