Nitish too playing vote bank politics

Nitish flak for BJP manifesto
NALIN VERMA
Patna, April 3: The BJP’s manifesto — stressing on building the Ram temple at Ayodhya, striking out Article 370 from the Constitution and implementing uniform civil code — has once against embarrassed JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar, a star NDA campaigner in Bihar and the saffron party’s 13-year-old ally.

Sharply reacting on the poll document, the Bihar chief minister said: “The JD(U) will bring out its own manifesto. The JD(U) does not agree to the BJP’s view on Ram temple, Article 370 and uniform civil code.”

Nitish clarified that the JD(U) would not allow the BJP to implement the clauses of its manifesto if the NDA came to power for the “JD(U) has a view opposed to the BJP on these three issues”.

He pointed out that his party had all along been stating that the Ayodhya issue should be solved either by the dialogue between the two communities concerned or by the court.

“There is no third way the JD(U) can allow on the issue. We are opposed to striking Article 370 and imposing uniform civil code on people.”

The NDA, with A.B. Vajpayee at its helm, had been brining out a common manifesto free from the reference of the three contentious issues for the past 11 years. However, the BJP — bringing its own manifesto stressing Hindutva — has apparently annoyed the JD(U) ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

The JD(U) strategists feel that by bringing out a separate manifesto, the BJP itself has given a message of “disunity” in the NDA which the rivals might exploit to the hilt, alienating the minorities further.

I fully endorse Nitish Kumar's statement criticising the BJP for once again raking in the Ram Temple controversy. However, I do not agree with him on article 370 and a uniform civil code.
The BJP should realize that the Ram Temple has become a dead horse. There is no point in flogging it any further.
Even people like me who were once diehard BJP supporters are fed up with the slogan.
We want them to do work for the people and not fool the people.Like Narendra Modi.
Go to the villages, uplift the poor. Let them know we care for them. Sitting in the cities and talking of Ram Temple will get them nowhere. They are just making laughing stock of themselves and allowing the missionaries to convert them.
However, Article 370 should be abrogated.
We have given the Kashmiiri's 60 years to merge with the rest of the union. Instead, they are becoming more and more strident and violent in their opposition to merge. The time for kid gloves is over. With terrorism becoming rampant, it is about time that the army was handed over charge fully.
Anybody not willing to merge with India should be thrown out either to POK or Pakistan, wherever they chose and Kashmir should be populated with nationalist Indians.
We do not want to hear another further "Pakistan Zindabad" slogans from Kashmir.
Let them decide whether they want to stay in India, POK or Pakistan.
As long as Article 370 remains, Kashmir will never merge in India. We will always have a festering sore.
Similarly, as long as the muslims have a separate personal law which allows them to marry 4 times and brood forty children at Lalu's rate, the mistrust among the Hindus will continue.
We are being swarmed by Bangla deshis on one side and are own muslim population is multiplying in leaps and bounds. Can you blame the Hindu for worrying?
I know, the educated and sensible muslims will have only one wife. Then why create misgivings? From experience, I can say, even one wife is a problem.
If they do not want to have a uniform peronal law, at least remove this provision of allowing 4 wives.
Even Hindus are misutilizing this provision and committing bigamy by converting.
When Nitish Kumar, whom I thought was sensible, does not support abrogating Article 370 and Uniform Personal Law, it shows that he too is playing Vote Bank politics
