Bangladshi Criminal - potential voter

Proven identity
HuJI activist as a potential voter

As startling as the fact that a convicted activist of the Harkat-ul-Jihadi Islami could wangle both a ration card and a voter’s card, sitting in Kolkata’s periphery of Baguiati, is the reality that official agencies can be conned to issue critical documents of citizenship. It is quite obvious that both the Directorate of Rationing and the Election Commission’s outfit in the city were readily persuaded to believe something credulous. Amazing no less must be the fact that the state police, Intelligence and the BSF were unaware that a convicted terrorist had crossed over, effected a name change and was masquerading as an umbrella trader. Mufti Ibrahim’s case must be particularly sinister. Till his arrest last weekend, he was at once a threat to both India and Bangladesh, having been convicted for the plot to assassinate Sheikh Hasina during her spell as Prime Minister in 1999. The fact that he was able to flee to West Bengal after conviction is not merely a confirmation of what they call a “porous border” ~ a post-Mujib phenomenon ~ but reaffirms that easy transit facilities are in place for terrorists and killers. So much for Dhaka’s protestations of contrived friendship, of late matched with the Awami League’s smug assurance that the militant threat shall be contained. Beyond diplomatic niceties, the reality is chilling from Bangladesh to Baguiati. As the Special Operations Group tries to flush out more details of Ibrahim’s escapades, it becomes imperative to bring both the rationing department ~ almost always a cesspool of corruption ~ and the local election authorities under the scanner. There wasn’t even a semblance of verification before the two crucial citizenship documents were issued. The arrest should propel the authorities to get to the bottom of the racket.

The above is an Editorial from "The Statesman", Kolkata.
A porous border manned by corrupt BSF guards allows Bangladeshis to come as and when they want.
Corrupt government officials give the ration cards other documents to prove they are Indian citizens.
All for Vote bank politics.
When will these corrupt politicians and officials realize that their short term gains is making India unsafe for their children.
When will we get a good police force and crime inspection/prevention agency which will be free of the manipulations of the government in power?
When can we call an action black or white and not grey?
Grey, because if you are in power, it appears white but when in the opposition it is black.
With the candidates thrown up during these elections by all the major parties, I fear there is not going to be any change unless the people start taking the law into their hands and start meting out extempore justice to these corrupt politcians.
