I am also looking for Janardhanan.
He was also in my batch in Goethals.
He had studied in Presidency College with some pople who live in Bangur Avenue.
After, they have not heard from him.
Let us see if anybody can give info.

Get-Together :

You are aware that the get-together scheduled for 04-1-09 had to be postponed because majority of the boys were travelling / out-of-station. We had then announced 01-02-09 as the re-scheduled tentative date. We have now decided to hold the Get-Together as planned on Sunday 01-02-09.

Date : Sunday 01-02-09
Venue : Armenian Club (Queen’s Mansion) on Park Street (same building as Magnolia, Barkat Ali etc. but on the rear side)
Time : 11.30 am

Parking : Along Russel Street & Park Street. Being a Sunday morning, parking should not pose a problem.

Registration :@ Rs. 250/= per head

Participation :Family Welcome

Please REGISTER in advance. Spot Registrations are not welcome because until and unless we know the number of people attending, in advance, it become difficult, if not impossible, for us to organize the event successfully

Our efforts have been to keep the per head registration charges as low as possible and thus we do not have any / much lee-way. We have got to be accurate in every respect.

Food :We understand that 01-02-09 being ‘Sheetal Sasthi’ few boys and their families would like to have Veg food. As usual, we are making arrangements for normal Veg. food because few of our boys are vegetarians. While such vegetarians are known to us, we request the other boys to inform the undersigned if they too would like to have Veg food during the get-together so that we can make sufficient arrangements for the same.

Games : On the suggestion of some ladies, we have decided to host games during this get-together. We plan to start this process by having a few round of HOUSIE during the get-together on 01-02-09. So, please bring your family in large numbers and please come equipped with a pen / pencil.

Later, after we get ourselves more organized, we can introduce other party games for the enjoyment of specially our family members.

Goethals Alumni – Kolkata :

As earlier informed, all necessary paper-work required for Registering the Goethals Alumni – Kolkata are ready to be submitted for Registration under the West Bengal Co-Op Societies Act 1961 is ready. However, although a number of boys have expressed their eagerness to see our Alumni officially Registered at the earliest, we plan to submit these papers only after formally informing all boys and seeking their opinion.

We will be placing these papers before the boys for their approval and opinion

Also, as earlier informed, we have fixed a Annual Membership Fee of Rs. 1,000/= only. However, this first time, since we do not have the requisite stationary printed nor do we have a Bank Account, we will be accepting only Cash. However, a temporary receipt will be issued for every Membership received. This temporary receipt will later be supplemented with a Pucca Receipt. .

Therefore, you are requested to bring Rs. 1,000/= in cash.

A copy of the completed Memorandum of Association and Rules & Regulations will be circulated amongst you all before 01-02-09 so that each one of you can have a peek. The delay has been caused because we are proceeding with caution and seeking the consent of each and every office bearer before including his name as an office-bearer. We are NOT COMPELLING anyone and we wish to have people on board who have given us their consent.

Centenary DVD:Those of you who had purchased the Centenary DVD earlier but later found the DVD to be technically defective may being their defective DVD along on 01-02-09 and we will replace the same (if stocks last). We also have a few new DVD’s with us for sale @ Rs. 100/= per DVD

Hello Ranjan,

I like your decision in having vegetarian lunch.
I suggest, let us make it a standard to have only vegetarian food at our parties.
There are plenty of vegetarian dishes which all of you may have observed if you have been to any marwari marriage.
If you want I can tell one of the many caterers who cater to the marwari marriages for this party. If you are all satisfied, then in future, we could stick to veg food.
This could be decided with all our boys.
With Non-Veg food, my wife will never be able to participate.
I'll come, you can register me.

Problem is there are many strictly Non-Veg guys. Moreover, since the boys drink, they demand veg food.

However, we do have enough Veg items for the strictly veg guests. I do not know why your wife cannot participate with such Veg food itms ??

If you claridy, maybe we can be enlightened.

Dear RS,

I just now saw your photos of your office picnic at Mondal Garden. The pictures were beautiful. I had been to the same spot in 1998 for a family picnic. It is a picturesque place. There's a very old Kali Temple nearby. I don't know if you found the time to visit the temple.

I'm not quite fit at the moment. So I couldn't sit on the net for the last four five days. The fault was mine, of course. I love good food, but I didn't consider my age and that has landed me in trouble. However, with a bit of control over my palate, I'm recuperating.

I had a long chat with SP regarding net connection. I told him to take Airtel. I think you also have Airtel. They give better service. I got my connection within a few hours. I signed the papers in the morning, and the whole job was complete by sunset.

Dear JK,

No, I didn't have the time to visit the Kali temple as some masons were working at home and I had to come back early from the picnic to oversee their work. I had to also take leave on Monday.for that.
The place is beautiful.
We are having the last few days of this years cold weather in Kolkata.
Tomorrow is DK, son's boubhath.
I'll be meeting AK and SP there and can discuss with SP the met connection.
