The ninth list of 30 candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the Lok Sabha elections

The ninth list of 30 candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the Lok Sabha elections is announced. With this list the total number of candidates declared by the AAP so far is now 317.

Here is a brief profile of the candidates.

Jinti Gogoi-

Jinti Gogoi is an Assam State Campaign Committee member. She has been a RTI activist. She is Ex- Nari Mukti Sangram Samiti Publicity Secretary the women wing of KMSS. She was a member of Assam State Preparatory Committee of AAP. The Kolibor seat is a dynastic seat held by Assam CM Tarun Gogoi’s family.

Abdul Mannan Barbhuiya-

Abdul Mannan Barbhuyia is a social activist with wide ranging experience in banking industry in India & abroad. He is connected with several organizations and actively working at grass roots in rural Silchar.

Santosh Kumar-

Santosh (40) is young leader of labour union in tribal area of Kanker and Balod. He has been involved with CITU at Bhilai Steel Plant Mines union in Dallirajhara . He is a young tribal activist has raised voice against illegal mining and labours rights in bastar. Through various agitations he raises the issue of labour and tribal rights on industrialization of Bastar region.

Dadooram Manhar-

Dadooram (36) a post graduate in Bio Science belongs to dalit community of Chhattisgarh. He has been very active for social and economic upliftment of his dalit Satnami community through voluntary organisation. He is secretary of Satnami samaj of Janjgir and has been organising meetings of panchayat raj representatives for rural development. Dadooram has been associated with Jan lokpal andolan and is active member of AAP since its formation.

Bhaskar Dwivedi-

Bhaskar Dwivedi (41) as Chairman of NGO has worked for the upliftment and empowerment of tribal farmers and rural society particularly for the socially and economically vulnerable of Rajnandgaon, Kawardha and Dhamtari districts. As Secretary of Chhattisgarh Voluntary Health Association he supports innovative health development programme at grassroot level with active participation of the people. He promoted social enterprise for good quality agro inputs and dissemination of agro technology to rural farmers in far flung areas. As an activist and co founder of Chhattisgarh Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti he led several movements for education in Chhattisgarh. He has led farmer agitations on various issues including paddy bonus, minimum support price etc.

Patel Atulbhai Karshanlal-

He is young and dynamic. He is involved in several social activities. He is supported by our local volunteer team. He is not involved ever in any political party and he is person with a clean image. He has the sprit to contest.

Nathalal Sukhadiya -

Nahtathala is our state executive and campaign committee member. He was involved in IAC movement and active member of Aam aadmi party from the very bigining. He is very young, aggressive and dynamic person. He is a RTI activist.

Shivakumar N. Tontapura-

Shivakumar is an amazing story of exemplary work despite physical impediment, of complete visual impairment(blind). His achievements can outclass anyone else’s, especially those with all physical senses and limbs intact. His numerous achievements are hard to be listed in any profile. Following is only a small excerpt of tall achievements: Shivakumar, who started his first social endeavour in 1988 with a hostel for youth without any government grant, subsequently established a voluntary educational institution that employed 70 educated youth. He worked for a donation-less education to hundreds of children through his two educational institutions. He established Balvadis for children of poor working women and cooli workers.Shivakumar is well known for his work for physically exploited women and children, providing shelter, rehabilitation and counselling for them, opening residential schools for orphans and children of cooli workers and for forming self-help groups in many villages, including 150 earthworm units for organic farm development helping the villagers. For his various social and community work, he has received many awards, including the Servant of the Poor award in Delhi in 2007. Considering his enormous contribution to the society and ability to transform the economy of the rural areas, AamAadmi Party is fielding him from the Koppal parliamentary constituency.

Muttappa C. Angadi-

MuttappaAngadi, or Muttu as he is publicly known among his friends and farmers across the Belgaum district, is a young lad from the rural areas who chose agricultural entrepreneurship as his profession. Facing the same routine economic problems that affect our rural youth to pursue education, he helped the district to turn green with his business of spreading and distributing agricultural technology, tools and resources. His efforts helped the district farmers to enhance productivity which significantly improved their living standards, making him a favourite among the farming community. Hand in hand with his agricultural enterprise, Muttu has also fought against the corrupt practices of government officials affecting all people in the district. He had led an anti-corruption drive at the District Hospital and local government clinics. Young and energetic MuttuAngadi has also been the face of the AamAadmi Party in the district and well respected by his volunteer team. He has built a team of youthful volunteers and senior citizen in his support. MuttappaAngadi is AAP’s young candidate from Belgaum.

Sridhar Narayankar-

Sridhar holds a Diploma in plastic mould technology and is currently pursuing a degree in industrial engineering. He is one of the young entrepreneurs in the party, having come up in life in difficult circumstances – he is the proprietor with a chemical and fertiliser firm in Bijapur catering to the highly critical agricultural sector. He has won two national awards for micro/ SSI enterprises – Great Achievers Award and RashtriyaUdyogSammanPuraskar, in the years 2008 and 2009. Sridhar’s social work revolves around his role as the general secretary of ParisaraRakshanaVedike (ಪರಿಸರ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ವೇದಿಕೆ) which manages the pollution control issues in the district. AAP is fielding him from Bijapur (SC Reserved) parliamentary constituency.

Raghavendra Thane-

Raghavendra is an example of the hardworking youth of this country using his education to set up own business and promote employment among several qualified youth. He has successfully established multi-chain of Ice Cream outlets on a pan-India level. At the same time, Raghu as he is known among friends, has taken up responsibilities in promoting and building AAP volunteer teams in many parts of North Karnataka.

Santhosh MohanGowda-

Santhosh Mohan is a coffee planter as well as an advocate. One more of the success story of the AamAadmi Party becoming the face of the young generation – as a young professional, Santhosh was moved by the revolution created by the party and became an instant member and volunteer holding fort in Hassan district. Santhosh has worked on several anti-corruption initiatives for the benefit of the general public. Santhosh is fielded from the Hassan parliamentary constituency.

Gurudev S H-

Gurudev is a young professional engineer qualified in computer science and is currently working for a private company. He is the Son of a progressive Farmer and President of BharatiyaKrishikSamaj, in KoppaTaluk of Chikmagalur district. He is an environmentalist, hailing from the ecologically rich Shringeri region on the borders of Udupi and Chikmagalur districts. He has taken up issues concerning the Western Ghats, being the most fragile ecosystem in the world which is subjected to constant threats like monoculture plantations, Mining, new Hydel power projects and unscientific development practices. He has taken up issues of marginal farmers, environmental activism aggressively in social media and is keen to take the message to the masses in chikmagalur. As a true face of the young India and protector of the fragile ecosystem of the western ghats, Gurudev is fielded from the Udupi-Chikmagalur parliamentary constituency.

Mohan Dasari-

Mohan is another young face of the party, having worked in various districts of Karnataka promoting the ideals of the AamAadmi Party and building the organisation at grass root level. He qualified as a technology professional from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Suratkal and then went to do his Masters with BITS, Pilani. He is the founder chairman of Aarushi Foundation –a NGO that sponsors high school education to financially backward students – having sponsored around 200 such students. The NGO was a result of seeing many bright students opting out of higher education due to financial constraints. Representing the enterprising youth brigade of the party, Mohan Dasari is fielded from Chitradurga (SC Reserved) constituency.

K.V.Kumar-

KV Kumar is a self employed professional with diverse experience in visual and print media. He started CATV small scale industries in Mandya in 1990, later mega cable TV network called MTN (Mandya Television Network). He started editing a local newspaper ‘NeladaHodlu’ in 1999 and Pouravani from 2010, which is a newspaper founded by noted freedom fighter, HS Doraiswamy in 1941. He has also been active in the social circles and public service for the last 20 years with public awareness programs through the TV on subjects like child marriage, human rights violations, gender identity etc. He has conducted joint venture program with Judicial department giving free legal service to economically backward people. Provided detailed knowledge sharing for the farmers with agricultural experts on soil testing, insect problems, water management, horticultural crops etc. He also holds the position of joint secretary in the District Horticultural Society. He has helped the general public, especially farmers, in bringing their problems to the attention of the district and state administration.

Padmamma M.V. -

Padmamma is a familiar face as the coordinator and treasurer of the Oneness University, for several districts in Karnataka, which organises events related to rural development and spiritual growth. An experienced campaigner of AAP’s first election in Delhi Assembly, Padmamma has been part of the party’s Mysore team as a Treasurer initially, and Co-convenor of late, organising several events. Padmamma has been part of many social and community awareness programs including planting of trees, blood donation etc. Padmamma is fielded from Mysore parliamentary constituency.

ShivakumarGiriyappaMalagi-

ShivakumarMalagi holds a masters degree in journalism and actively works in his profession for the last 8 years, but belongs to a farmer’s family. He has used the power of pen to unearth the mining scam in Bellary in close association with Sri S R Hiremath, which has resulted in probe and imprisonment of several ministers involved in wrong-doing. Shivakumar is also active on the social front, working closely with noted anti-corruption crusader, Sri S R Hiremath who leads three major organisations - of SamajParivartanSamudaya, Jan SangramParishadand the National Committee for Protection of Natural Resources. Shivakumar is a founding day member of the AamAadmi Party, having participated in the launch of the party on 26 November 2012. He has worked closely with the AAP team in New Delhi on the illegal mining cases of Karnataka. Young and energetic anti-corruption activist ShivakumarMalagi is fielded to provide an alternative to the mining-scam affected people of Bellary.

Hassan Ali Sirquazi-

Hassan Ali is aged 61 and has worked with the community and the society in several endeavours. As a former Railways employee, he has helped many people in getting their pensions and compassionate pensions for his railway employees. He has also worked for the CAG and portions of his report were quoted in CAG’s presentations to the parliament. As a true aamaadmi with concerns of taking care of the poor in society, he has visited government primary schools and taken classes on a completely voluntary basis for rural youth in the subjects of science and mathematics. He has helped many school dropouts to come to the mainstream since 1972 and also conducted adult education classes. He has also volunteered to get health facilities to the poor from his village to get treatment and care in government hospitals. Hassan and his family have been involved in providing support in arranging marriages of poor people, including inter-caste marriages. Hassan Ali is being fielded from the Haveri parliamentary constituency.

Basavaraj K J-

Mr.Basavaraj K J holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mysore University. He has worked as an Assistant General Manager at M/s Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Ltd. He has extended his services to the NGO ‘Rani KitturChennamma Welfare Trust’. The trust is instrumental in providing free education to poor rural children & skill development training programmes for poor rural women in Davangere district. He was associated with Anna movement in 2011 and was a prominent face in organising jathas across Davangere district and also participated in rallies conducted in Bangalore. Basavaraj is fielded from Davanagereloksabha constituency.

Sampath Kumar-

Mr.Sampath Kumar runs his own enterprise, Sohan Associates and is a graduate in civil engineering. He is the secretary of an NGO called OWP and has organised activities like free health camps, educational camps, etc. His ambition is to realise the dream of decentralisation, empowerment of people and implement the true meaning of ‘By the people, for the people and of the people’. Sampath Kumar is fielded from Chamraj Nagar loksabha constituency.

Kutubuddin B Kazi-

Mr.KutubuddinKazi’s primary occupation is that of farming. has been instrumental for many years to provide rail connectivity to Bagalkot. He has initiated many agitations and petitions to the railway authorities. In 2008, he also undertook a 33 day fast which resulted in a new rail connectivity in the Hubli division of Indian Railways. KutubuddinKazi is fielded from BagalkotLoksabha constituency. A.S.D’Silva- Mr D’Silva is a former Assistant Commissioner and Deputy SP of Central Bureau of Investigation – Anti Corruption & Banking Fraud Cell, Bangalore. He has rendered 37 years of meritorious service including work on white collar criminals. He is currently the editor & publisher of English fortnightly magazine – “India Vahini” in Bangalore. With active interest in educational field, he currently is the President of the Mount Mary Educational Society and he supports neglected and downtrodden children’s education. He has the vision to provide education to poor children and work to eradicate corruption from all levels of society. Mr D’Silva is fielded from Tumkur loksabha constituency.

Dr. Rameshkumar Baburoaji Gajbe-

He is a postgraduate Doctor of medicne, and has been an independent MLA from Chimur in 1995. He was a Minister of State in Narayan Rane's cabinet, and has handled Trade, Commerce and Mining portfolios. Since mid-eighties, he has been working with Advasis; fighting for their constitutional rights. He has a close understanding of the issues plaguing the farmers of Vidarbha, and has worked tirelessly for their welfare

Vithal Namdeorao Kadam -

Dr. Kadam works as a College Principal as well as a Farmer in Umerkhed Taluka in Yavatmal District. He earned a postgraduate degree in 1988 and a Ph.D. in 2002. He is strong supporter of Anna Hazare's JanLokpal movement. Dr. Kadam has also been an anti-corruption crusader for many years, and has been actively involved in Farmers' movement

. Saraswati Nanda -

She has worked in Social non-government and government sector for last 10 years. Being an educated and strong women she has worked on issues of starvation and exploitation of migration laborers. Currently she is the member of Collector's Grievance cell working toward solving Women issue. She has worked as project officer of Nehru Yuvak Sangathan in 285 Panchayats. She has actively participated in fighting against local issues and she strongly believes that AAM AADMI party is the long sought alternative in Odisha.
