Kumar Vishwas's cavalcade attacked in Amethi

Lucknow, March 14 (IANS) The motorcade of AAP leader Kumar Amethi was attacked late Friday in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, police said. AAP blamed the Congress for the attack.

Vishwas, a poet-turned-politician, alleged that many Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers were beaten up and many vehicles in his cavalcade damaged by Congress workers.

The incident took place when Vishwas, who is taking on Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi from the Amethi parliamentary constituency, was on way to Sinduriya village.

AAP leaders said that a group of people came out and attacked them. "They were shouting anti-AAP slogans and were asking us to go back from Amethi," an AAP leader told IANS.

AAP also alleged that a village head led the attack.

Police however said that no complaint has been filed by Vishwas.

Informed sources said soon after the attack, AAP leader and former Delhi education minister Manish Sisodia left for Amethi to attend to the injured workers.

Media spreading lies about Modi's development claims: Kejriwal

Bangalore, Mar.15 (ANI): Maintaining his charge against the media, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said the media is spreading lies about Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's development claims in Gujarat.

"Want to know why some section of the media is lying to the country about Modi's development claims? Will the media ever dare to tell the truth about the Gujarat?" asked Kejriwal.

"Farmers are living in a bad condition there. Their lands have been snatched and are given to Ambani and Adani. It is a big political conspiracy to project Modi as 'vikas purush'," Kejriwal added.

At a fund-raising event in Nagpur on Thursday, Kejriwal had hit out at the media saying they have been paid heavily to promote Modi. He also lashed out at the media for focusing on his security deployment, and alleged that media is sold and part of the political conspiracy against him.

He further added that if his government comes to power, he will set up an inquiry into this political conspiracy and along with the media people, everyone involved will be sent to prison.

Jaitley hit outs at Kejriwal for media comments

New Delhi, March 15 (IANS) BJP leader Arun Jaitley Friday slammed AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for attack on "democratic institutions".

"Arvind Kejriwal started as a populist. He has evolved into a demagogue. He can make allegations against anyone and everyone without any supporting evidence. He has little concern for the truth. He believes in repeating the falsehood several times," said Jaitley.

Aam Aaadmi Party (AAP) leader Kejriwal created furore after saying that his party, if it comes to power, would put behind bars those journalists it suspects have taken money to promote Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. He retracted his comments Friday.

"He (Kejriwal) convinces himself that facts manufactured by him are true. As a populist in many areas he is ideology-less. He looks at the mood of the mob before presenting his case. Such persons can be extremely dangerous for democratic institutions," Jaitley said on his blog Friday.

Jaitley also slammed Congress leader Salman Khurshid for his comments on the poll panel and the judiciary.

It is obvious that both the Congress and BJP are worried of the rise of AAP hence the attacks through goondas, media and politicians.
