Bharat Swabhiman - A view

I am a great fan of Swami Ramdeoji, as my blog readers may have guessed by now. His views match mine in many respects. However, there are one or two points on which I differ.
On going through the application form which I downloaded from the web, I found one or two points which I have informed Swamiji

The Application form is given below and my views to Swamiji given thereafter

Respected Swami Ramdeoji,

I was going through your "Bharat Swabhiman" application form - 2.
I found some mistakes in the spelling which hit my eyes.
I have corrected them and am sending it back so that you can make necessary corrections in your site and new applications to be printed.
Although, I have not joined your movement, but I do support your ideas and have been fighting the same cause through my blog http://blogs.siliconindia.com/Radheshyam

I have not joined because of certain differences I have with what you have asked in the form.
I cannot accept using 100% indigenous articles, if I find that the foreign product gives a longer life, is cheaper and better.
We saw how our Indian cars like Ambassador, Fiat and Standard have fared. In the control raj, Ambassadors were sold at a premium. They failed to improve their quality when imports started. I would prefer to buy a Maruti than a Ambassador although Maruti is a foreign company. For your information, I have neither.
If everything else is equal, I will accept the indigenous product.
However, although the cost of production is much less, the Indian product is charged same as the foreign product.
A case in point is the cold drink industry.
The price of a bottle of coke/pepsi is the same as any Indian brand.
Why shouldn't the Indian brand be cheaper.
Indian manufacturers should not take advantage of our nationalist feelings.

Further, although it is not mentioned in your form, I do not support your views on making the regional languages the medium of instruction for higher education in all states.
English books are easily available for all higher studies.
Regional language books would first have to be translated from English and then published, making them very expensive.
This policy is again going to divide India.
English is the second most understood language in India, just after Hindi.
Why should it not be treated at par with any other Indian language.?
Why should it be considered a foreign language?
It is because Indians know English better than the other Non-English speaking countries that we have been able to rise so fast in the world.
This tendency to consider English as a foreign language is a ploy by the north Indian politicians to divide India, not to unite it.
Let Hindi and English be the cement and mortar to unite India.

Yours sincerely,

Radheshyam Sharma
