New Haryana government will probe Vadra land deal, BJP leader says

CHANDIGARH: Haryana's new BJP government would investigate the controversial land deal involving Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra and the DLF in Gurgaon.

"We will inquire into all land scams including the one involving Vadra land deal. We will also see whether the law was violated in acquiring land for different projects during (the previous) Hooda government," said BJP leader Anil Vij. Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had earlier promised that the BJP would order probe into the Vadra cases if the party was voted to power.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi too had raised the Vadra land deal during poll rallies and urged the Election Commission (EC) to look into it.

The EC had found that the deal was legalized before the model code was enforced, but that did not matter. Modi's oratory ensured that the Rs 58-crore deal between Vadra's Skylight Hospitality and DLF in Gurgaon becomes the biggest symbol of Congress misrule in Haryana. Earlier, sources had said the new government is likely to cancel the three-acre deal in Shikhopur village that brought allegations of corruption to the doorstep of 10 Janpath and shook the foundations of UPA-2 ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

What was that about fooling the people.
It seems the BJP can fool all the people all the time.
Remember, the BJP government in Rajasthan had promised that they would enquire into all the land acquired by Robert Vadra, if the BJP came into power and would rescind the privileges given to him. Both these promises came to a big ZERO.
We can expect the same in Haryana.
