Photographs '81

Dear Mr. Sharma,
To keep the nostalgia flowing…..here’s a picture that surfaced after 26 years and my message below puts the same in perspective!
Attached also is a couple of shots from 2006; one with Mr. Binod Chettri, Mr. Fernandez, Mahesh Chettri (81) and Mrs. Dasgupta at Goethals.

Warm Regards,

Viraj.

The '81 batch is lucky in having Dr. Viraj Thacker, who is slowly opeing up his treasured photographs to revive memories.
Thank you Viraj.

Greetings Mates!
Great shot that…….the fourth form (class 10B)…..our long awaited trip to the Makaibari Gardens. It was a crisp Autumn day as I remember it, with a measured mix of sun and cloud…..and a welcome breeze that soothed our unbridled enthusiasm! After a general run about and an useful introduction to the ingenious orchestration of leaf and machine, we were generously gifted with an ample sampling of the fine stuff. The brew was sipped (during the holidays) with due appreciation of the subtle brilliance that captured the unsurpassed essence of the Darjeeling leaf!
Amazingly, I managed to recapture some of that old “flavor” when I stopped for a quick “cuppa” at the Gov. of West Bengal Tourist Resort (directly across from St. Helen’s) and was served a steaming pot of “Makaibari”! Wonderful stuff……..the nostalgia and all……after a span of 26 years!!
Best Wishes to all of you.
Keep writing chaps.
Warm Regards,

Viraj.
