… it would not have happened had it not been for the reunion…

The text on the picture reads: “Karma Sonam Tobgay (from Sikkim, GMS 1974) and Richard Johnson (GMS 1963) Picture taken on Friday, March 7, 2008. K.S. was at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia for his daughter’s enrolment into a Masters program. Please note the GMS Alumni tie which Richard wore just to impress…”

I briefly met K.S. when I attended the reunion in November 2007. He was on the Alumni Organising Committee along with Dorjee Dahdul (my friend from 1963 – we were in Bro. Moynahan’s class). However, meeting K.S. was like meeting an old friend – we seemed to have so much in common and so much to talk about. We had lunch at a nearby Malaysian Restaurant (chicken curry and rice with a beer of course) and chatted. It was great. Now, none of that would have been possible had it not been for the reunion. The effect of the reunion has been fantastic in connecting people. This blog is another example.
