BJP unleashing violence in Delhi to vitiate election atmosphere

Aam Aadmi Party strongly condemns the murderous attack on its volunteers in Tuglakabad by the family members and hired goons of BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri, who also burnt the vehicle of AAP candidate Sahi Ram.

The violence unleashed by BJP on AAP volunteers is a clear indication that it wants to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the national capital ahead of the assembly elections.

It is shocking that a mob led by the MP’s nephew attacked the AAP volunteers in broad daylight when a TV news channel was conducting a debate in the DDA park at Tuglakabad.
Armed with sharp weapons, they attacked the AAP volunteers, who were participating in the TV programme and inflicted serious injuries on them without any provocation.

Atleast 10 volunteers had to be taken to the AIIMS trauma centre for treatment and preparation of their medico-legal reports.

What is further shocking that the police personnel remained mute spectators when the BJP hoodlums set Sahi Ram’s jeep on fire (photo attached).

Delhi Police must not fail in its duty of maintaining the law and order situation in the city, and it cannot turn a blind eye to the open goondaism in which the BJP is indulging and such violence is being provoked by none less than their MP, as has been proved in this case.
The police cannot become an interested party and ignore the BJP’s open disregard for the rule of law and its strong arm tactics.

The AAP demands that the Govindpuri Police must immediately register an FIR and book the BJP hoodlums, including MP Ramesh Bidhuri’s nephew and other family members named in the complaint.
