Weren't we foolish, asks defeated Dikshit

New Delhi, Dec 8 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Sunday accepted defeat in the Delhi assembly polls and acknowledged that her party had failed to gauge the popularity of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), saying the party had behaved "foolishly" in misjudging them.

Dikshit submitted her resignation to Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung Sunday as vote count showed that the Congress may not win even a dozen seats in the 70-member assembly.

Asked whether the Congress could not sense the public mood about AAP, the 75-year-old Dikshit shot back: "Weren't we foolish ('bewqoof')" in possibly misjudging them.

The three-time chief minster, who trends showed was heading for an ignominious defeat in the New Delhi constituency, said: "I accept the election results with due respect," she added.

You can wake up a man if he is asleep but you cannot wake up a man who is lying awake.

The signs were very much there that the AAP would be winning with a massive mandate. However, the paid media of both the Congress and BJP gave various poll results that BJP would come first, the Congress second and the AAP third with around 5 to 6 seats.

Like Ostriches, they preferred to bury their heads in the sand instead of facing the oncoming storm and now cry that they were not aware.

You can lie to the world but you cannot lie to yourself.
