Rahul's comments may spread anarchy: Rajnath Singh

Kolkata, Sep 30 (IANS) Criticising Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for calling a cabinet-approved ordinance "complete nonsense" which should be "torn up and thrown away", BJP president Rajnath Singh Monday said the remarks would spread anarchy.

Describing Gandhi's outburst as an insult to the nation as well as to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Bharatiya Janata Party chief Rajnath Singh said Gandhi should have asked for the ordinance to be formally withdrawn, instead of publicly denouncing it.

"By asking that the ordinance be torn up, is he (Gandhi) trying to spread anarchy? He could have waited for the prime minister to come back to India and told him that the ordinance was not appropriate and should be withdrawn. He could have asked for a cabinet meeting for formally withdrawing the ordinance," Singh told reporters here.

Gandhi, in a surprise move Friday, had strongly criticised the controversial ordinance approved by the cabinet to shield convicted lawmakers.

Rajnath Singh said Gandhi's outburst was an insult to the country. "The prime minister does not belong to a particular political party, but represents the whole country. At a time when he is representing the nation on foreign soil, his own party leader snubs him. It is unfortunate and inappropriate. This has hurt the prestige and esteem of the country," Singh said.

Rajnath Singh says that the Prime Minister does not belong to any political party.

Is he joking?

The PM does not think he is the PM of the country. He still thinks he is the PM of the Congress party and all his actions point to that.

The Prime Minister deserves all the insult.

He has been the worst Prime Minister in India's history and he is so thick skinned that even after this insult he will not resign. Parliament has been taking the people of India for granted for too long.

They should have heeded the growing disillusionment with them during Anna's agitation which they scuttled and then thought the masses had forgotten.

They should take a lesson from British History when Oliver Cromwell sacked Parliament and also from the French Revolution when the Royalty was beheaded.

So far it has been the social network which is expressing its rage.

If that is not addressed then they people will take up arms.

We have seen that at a smaller level by the Maoist.

The Supreme Court and civil society is doing all they can to make the politicians understand that enough is enough and they should correct themselves but the politicians are failing to see the writing on the wall.

The Ordinance to save Criminal politicians was the latest example of the government who is headed by the above mentioned Prime Minister of the Congress Party, trying to take the people for a ride.

Why only the PM, even the President acts as if he is the President of the Congress Party.

If the social media had not gone viral against the ordinance, he too may have passed the ordinance.

It is parliament which is creating anarchy by not heeding the voice of the people
