If Sonia ji asks me to pick up a broom and sweep, I will do it: Union minister Dr Charandas Mahant

RAIPUR: In the latest example of political sycophancy, Union minister of state for agriculture and food processing Dr Charandas Mahant said on Monday that, "If Congress president Sonia Gandhi asks me to pick up a broom and sweep state Congress office in Chhattisgarh, I would do it".

Dr Mahant, who has been appointed as the new working president of Chhattisgarh State Congress Committee (CGPCC), was replying to a question on whether he would be able to do justice to the Congress as state party chief while continuing as Union minister of state.

Sadly, after ruling the country for most of the 65+ years since independence, this is the current state of the Congress party.

They require sweepers and not leaders.

Surely we deserve better. Isn't it time we ended this rule of sycophancy and blind loyalty?

Let us vote the Congress party out of power. Let us start with the Delhi assembly elections.

Help us make this a reality by supporting the Aam Aadmi Party. Pass on this message to your friends and family so they too could participate in this effort.

Thank you for your support!
