Delhi traffic cop attacked

New Delhi, June 15 (IANS) A head constable of Delhi Traffic Police was attacked by two people when he tried to book their car, said police Saturday.

The incident was reported from south Delhi's Neb Sarai around 9.25 a.m. Friday.

Prem Sagar, 40, was attacked after he stopped a car, which was being driven in the wrong lane.

When Sagar asked the car's driver Nitin, 27, for the vehicle's papers, the latter abused the head constable and tried to mow him down, police said. Sagar's leg was injured.

Nitin's friend Vikas manhandled the head constable.

Sagar's colleague called the Police Control Room (PCR) and Nitin was arrested from the spot while Vikas managed to escape.

Our leaders are always comparing ourselves with the western nations when they want to take some advantage.

Recently Kanimojhi, daughter of Karunanidhi, former CM of Tamil Nadu, advocated the abolishing of the death penalty as it had been abolished in most of the western nations.

Why does she not compare the traffic rules?

Would the above ever be allowed in the USA.

There-

No person is allowed to sit on the steering wheel without a valid licence.

No person can appear in a driving test without first passing a online test which consists of 100 questions. Only two answers are allowed wrong in a 100 questions.

Children are allowed to sit only in the back seat in specially constructed seats for their protection.

Traffic rules and lights are stringently followed.

Pedestrians are allowed to cross the road when the light allows them and at that time all vehicular traffic comes to a halt.

Vehicles are allowed to be parked only in space provided by them.

In India, all the above would be a dream.

When the prime minister of a country herself flouts the rules, the public will naturally do the same.

Kiran Bedi who towed away Indira Gandhi's car because it was wrongly parked, was transferred the very next day to Goa.
