Former DMK minister's house raided

Chennai, Oct 8 (IANS) The residence and offices of former DMK tourism minister N. Suresh Rajan were raided in Tamil Nadu along with those of his relatives on charges of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income, officials said Saturday. He is the fifth DMK minister to come under the vigilance scanner.
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) conducted the raids at six premises belonging to Rajan and his relatives at Nagercoil, around 650 km from here.
Raids are also conducted at the steel plant belonging to Rajan in Tirunelvelli district, some 650 km from here.
According to officials, a case has been registered against Rajan under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Rajan is the fifth DMK minister to come under the DVAC scanner lately. Earlier, the agency raided the residences and office premises of K.N. Nehru, T.M. Anbarasan, K. Ponmudi and M.R.K.

If the government is truly anxious in attacking corruption, all the cases of these five ministers should be taken up by a fast track court and if found guilty, all their property should be confiscated.
