A morning with Bro. Peters took us back to 1965

It is not often that we see our old teachers.

Especially for us who happened to pass out from school in 1965.

When I went to meet Br. Fernandez at St. Mary's on 1st January for wishing him a Happy New year he informed me that Br. Peters who taught us Chemistry 1965 would be coming over to St. Mary's from Shillong in January to spend the winter.

We made plans to meet him.

However there were four of us from the 1965 batch in Kolkata and herding all four together proved to be a difficult task.

However, three of us were finally able to meet him on 7th of March, just two days before he was due to return to Shillong.

S.P Chatterjee, A K Roy and I were the lucky ones.

J K Ghosh could not make it as he had some urgent work.

He looked very much the same although slightly worn out because of age.

Naturally he did not recognize any of us.

But his memory was jogged by SP when he brought some old cards and letters which Brother had sent to SP SP had preserved these all these years it looked like just for this meeting.

There was so much to talk about, bringing ourselves updated on all that he had dome after he taught us and we updated him.

It was a pleasant three hours we had.

We promised to meet him regularly during his winter visits to Kolkata.
