Since we are being visited by riots in Delhi under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah , the same duo under whom the Gujarat riots took place in 2002, it is pertinent to repeat what Atal Behari Vajpayee, who was then the PM of India, had told Modi, "This is not Raj Dharma". Modi then failed to uphold Raj Dharma as he has failed again and so has Arvind Kejriwal who remained quiet, appealing for peace only through Twitter, like Donald Trump. Both Modi and Kejriwal acted like the infamous Nero who played fiddle while Rome burnt.
What a difference between them and Mahatma Gandhi, who spent four months in Noakhali when riots broke out there in 1946, although he was not very successful in quelling them.
Why did the above riots erupt on Delhi? It was because three persons, Kapil Mishra, Anurag Thakur and Parvesh Verma were not arrested as soon as they made inflammatory speeches. The EC, which acts as a rubber stamp of the Modi government, just banned the last two from canvassing on the remaining days before the elections.
This is unfortunately, always the case. No action is taken against powerful people as they may cause nuisance. Thus we had to hear Raj Thackerya, railing against the people of Bihar and UP when there was a Congress government in Maharashtra. It suited the Congress as it helped to divide the Maratha votes between Uddhv and Raj Thackeray.
