Taking a advantage of human nature

Hope this touches you the way it touched me!

A young man shopping in a supermarket noticed a little old lady following him around. If he stopped, she stopped. Furthermore she kept staring at him.

She finally overtook him at the checkout, And she turned to him and said, "I hope I haven't made you feel ill at ease; it's just that you look so much like my late son."

He answered, "That's okay."

"I know it's silly, but if you'd call out "Goodbye, Mom" as I leave the store, it would make me feel so happy."

She then went through the checkout, and as she was on her way out of the store, the man called out, "Goodbye, Mom."

The little old lady waved, and smiled back at him.

Pleased that he had brought a little sunshine into someone's day, he went to pay for his Groceries.

"That comes to $121.85," said the clerk..

"How come so much ... I only bought 5 items.."

The clerk replied, "Yeah, but your Mother said you'd be paying for her things, too."

Bet you thought this was going to be a tear jerker. Don't trust little Old Ladies!!!

This has been sent by Arun Shroff.
I suppose it is actions of the old lady above which destroys the urge to help a fellow human being in distress.
I have seen a TV serial "Just for a Gag" where people pretend to be in distress and when a bystander goes to help them they raise a laugh.
Although, they make you laugh but they are poor jokes for it will make people reticent in helping others.
When we first started having problem in Bengal after Jyoti Basu (God Bless him, wherever he may be)came to power, at ticket windows at railway stations young men would stand would stand with 1 Kg tin boxes with the symbol of hammer and sickle.
After some time people realized that all the money went to the person's personal fund.
I have seen a woman who has missed the last bus/train at Howrah station many times.
When we use the kindheartedness of people to cheat them, you can rest assured they will become heartless.
The above man will never again call another woman "mother"

I suppose, for him, it was a lesson learnt quite cheap, only $121.85.
He should be thankful for that.
I always take it in that spirit.
It has been a lesson learnt for so much.
