In memory of Santosh Kohli

On the first martyrdom anniversary of RTI and Swaraj activist, Santosh Koli, the Aam Aadmi Party today (August 7, Thursday), announced the setting-up of the Delhi unit of its women wing. It will be known as Aap Ki Mahila Shakti.
The announcement was made by the party convenor and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal at Ramlila Maidan, Sundar Nagri.
The AAP laid the ground for the Delhi Unit of its women's wing on 7th August at 3 PM in Ramlila Maidan - Sundar Nagri. This is our way of paying tribute to Santosh who was taken away from us on this day, last year. While her absence has left a deep void in our hearts, her energy and vision will continue to inspire us. Santosh's work demonstarted the power of women in public life. The Aam Aadmi Party Women's wing aims to bring women like Santosh to the forefront of Indian politics to create a better future for the country.
The Delhi unit of Aap Ki Mahila Shakti will be headed by the Shalimar Bagh MLA, Bandana Kumari. It has been decided to set-up the units in all districts of Delhi and will be followed by a committee in all the 70 assembly segments of the national capital. A helpline number will soon be made public to help women in directly contacting the party.

Other parties pay lip service to the rights of women, especially during election time or when there is a rape case.
AAP is the only party which gives good representation to women in its party.
