EATING FRUIT

We all think eating fruit means just buying fruit, cutting it up and popping it into our mouths. It's not that easy. It's important to know how and when to eat fruit.

What's the correct way to eat fruit?

IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUIT AFTER A MEAL! FRUIT SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

Eating fruit like that plays a major role in detoxifying your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.

Let's say you eat two slices of bread, then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it's prevented from doing so.

In the meantime, the whole meal rots and ferments, and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach, and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

Eat your fruit on an empty stomach, or before your meal! You've heard people complain: Every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc. This will not happen if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. Fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas. Hence, you bloat!

There's no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruit becomes alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruit, you have the Secret of Beauty, Longevity, Health, Energy, Happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT the concentrated juice from the cans. Don't drink juice that has been heated. Don't eat cooked fruit; you don't get the nutrients at all. You get only the taste. Cooking destroys all of the vitamins.

Eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit-fast to cleanse your body. Eat fruit and drink fruit juice for just 3 days, and you will be surprised when your friends say how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny but mighty, and a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E and fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange!

AN APPLE a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants and flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C, thereby helping to lower the risk of colon cancer, heart attack and stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits and protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

EATING 2 - 4 ORANGES a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent and dissolve kidney stones, and reduce the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. Also a key source of lycopene, the cancer-fighting oxidant. Also found in watermelon: Vitamin C and Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prev ent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene, good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer!

Can you believe this? For those who like to drink cold water, this applies to you. It's nice to have a cold drink after a meal, however, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you've just consumed, which slows digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks.

HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE

Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. Sixty percent of people who have a heart attack while they're asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Be careful, and be aware. The more we know, the better our chance to survive.

I may have posted this earlier.
However, it is important enough to be given a second posting.

An Analysis of Share Brokers

I have been dealing in shares since the year 1983.
I was a passive trader as I was working in private companies and I did not have much time.

Dematerialization was introduced towards the end of the last century. I avoided it as long as possible but took a plunge in it as I wanted to sell some shares.

I started dealing (27.05.2000) with Stock Holding Corporation, a government organization which was one of the first to dematerialize the shares. Naturally after demat, I became a bit more active but the process with SHCL was cumbersome. To make any payment or collect any cheque, I had to go all the way to their office in Park Street. They had no provision for online transfer of funds to and from my bank. Every visit there would be a 4 hour job. I gradually reduced my shares with them. Now, I do not have any shares with them.

My next broker was India bulls (22.06.2006). They had an interface which they called Power India bulls (PIB), through which I could trade in real-time and get quotes directly from the exchange. Their software was good only their intraday charts were very slow in loading on the screen However; this problem too has been taken care in the latest version of their PIB. Transfer of funds to and from my bank is done effortlessly.

Simultaneous with India bulls, my son had opened an account with Sharekhan, another online brokerage firm. I liked the speed with which their intraday chart was loaded on the screen and at one point I had thought of shifting my account from India bulls to Sharekhan. However, it had one defect. Every few minutes I had to log in and the password was always causing problems. After a number of attempts, I gave it up. My son too has now shifted to India bulls.

My next broker was Ashika Stock broking (10.05.2007). I chose them as my relationship manager from India bulls had left India bulls and joined them. He advised that it was good. They had software called ODIN. After a number of attempts to get the software loaded on my computer, they gave up. I also gave up the broker. Thankfully, they had not asked for any deposit.

A few days (15.05.2007) after starting and stopping business with Ashika, the Reliance Money people called me up and offered their services. Since India Bulls did not do business in BSE shares, I wanted a broker who dealt in BSE shares. Reliance dealt in them. I started trading through their on line internet based software. Compared to India bulls, their software was third rate and I had written to them a number of times. However, their brokerage was low and so I bore them.

Then they started increasing their brokerage. Initially when they started my account, they had said they charge Rs 500/- for transaction up to Rs 5.0 lakhs in value.

That was reduced to Rs 2.0 lakhs after I took up their account.

Then they started asking for Rs 15/- extra, per transaction, no matter what the value of the Rs 500/- for Rs 2.0 lakhs. This too was accepted by me.

Then they improved their software and I was happy that at last they had listened to me but my pleasure was shortlived.

The final straw came when they discontinued the Rs 500/- for Rs 2.0 lakhs and made the brokerage 0.35% of transaction value.
When India bulls was charging only 0.25% why should I pay more to Reliance.
I have informed Reliance that I am discontinuing their brokerage. Since this takes time, I have started liquidating my shares and transferring my money. No further purchases have been made through Reliance Money.

My next broker was Religare (03.10.2007).
They took Rs 2000/- advance from me which would cover brokerage for one year. However after signing all the papers and giving them my money, they told me to sign a form authorizing my shares to be transferred to their pool account. This I refused. I told them that my shares would be in my account and not in any pool account. I refused to do any business with them although I had paid Rs 2000/- It was better to lose Rs 2000/- than to be cheated in pool accounts,

It was while I was planning to close my account with Reliance that the Angel Broking people came. I thought they were God sent.

They charge 0.1% as brokerage and Rs 30/- per day you traded, no matter what the value. Of course they did not inform me of the additional Rs 30/- when they opened my account. However in spite of that accepted, as this I felt worked out in their favour vis-s-vis Reliance.

Further they gave a 1.0gm gold coin for depositing Rs 1.0 lakhs for starting transactions. I suppose the gold coin and 0.1% brokerage enticed me to accept their service.

However, ever since they have installed their software also called ODIN, I have faced problem. They have a password for entering their site and a back office password which I always seem to get wrong and have to take their help to set right. They have an IT section to whom you always have to go to set things right and every time you have to hand over your computer to them using Teamweaver. I opened my account with them on 30.09.2010 but till date, I have not been able to transfer fund to and from my bank inspiting of writing right up to their MD level.

In my 4 years with India bulls and Reliance, I have never had to handover my computer to them or their IT section.

I finally got fed up and sold off most of the shares (at a loss) I had bought with the Rs 1.0 lakh deposit given to them and withdrew the funds. The balance shares lying with them will also be sold off in due course and my account closed with them.
I will thus be left with only Indiabulls.

My above is my personal experience with the above brokerages and I hope it would help our readers to take a proper decision when selecting brokerages.

Stock Scams

Vanishing cos to include pvt ltd, unlisted cos
Divya Trivedi

New Delhi, Dec. 10

The Standing Committee on Finance has recommended that unscrupulous players among the unlisted and private limited companies should also be included under the ambit of ‘vanishing companies'. Currently these are out of the purview of the term.

In a move to protect investors' interests, the Committee has recommended widening the definition of ‘vanishing companies' to include within the statutory ambit any entity that collects huge sums of money from the public by way of IPOs, deposits, insurance and myriad savings schemes.

Currently, private limited and unlisted companies that raise deposits from the public are out of the scope of the definition of ‘vanishing companies'. This has resulted in weak enforcement action against entities defaulting on public money, according to the Committee.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) and Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) had set up a Coordination and Monitoring Committee (CMC) to identify and take action against unscrupulous promoters who raised money from investors and misused them.

A company is deemed to be a ‘vanishing company' if it fails on any one of the three counts. If it fails to file returns with the Registrar of Companies and Stock Exchanges for a period of two years since floating an IPO, does not maintain its registered office at the notified address or if none of its Directors are traceable.

Going by this definition, which covers only listed companies, not a single company has been identified as a ‘vanishing company' since 2011, according to the MCA.

In order to bring transparency in utilisation of IPO proceeds, the Committee recommends expedient institutionalisation and on-line activation of the coordination mechanism between the MCA and SEBI.

The Committee found the one-line response of MCA in the matter: “it will be taken up with SEBI”, to be “lackadaisical and non-committal”, and called for immediate action by the Ministry and appraisal of the progress made.

The above is from Businessline

The people who are involved in these scams should not be let off so easily.
The names of all the directors who were involved in these companies should also be published. These directors may be MDs, EDs, Wholetime or appointed external directors.
It is only when the government takes such a step will people who lend their names for nominal fees without looking at the running of the company, be more vigilant.
The Satyam case would never have occurred if the directors had been more vigilant.
Further, the bank accounts of all people who are vanish with public money should be frozen so that they do not enjoy their ill-gotten wealth.

Is there God?

Read the caption on the first photo, then look at the second photo.

Look at the picture above and you can see where this driver
broke through the guardrail, on the right side of the culvert,
where the people are standing on the road, pointing.

The pick-up was traveling about 75 mph from right to left
when it crashed through the guardrail.

It flipped end-over-end bounced off and across the culvert outlet,
and landed right side up on the left side of the culvert,
facing the opposite direction from which the driver was traveling.

The 22-year-old driver and his 18-year-old passenger
were unhurt except for minor cuts and bruises.

Just outside Flagstaff , AZ , on U.S. Hwy 100.

Now look at the second picture below...

If God isn’t done with you, God isn’t done with you….

5. A psychiatric cell was established in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences to counsel those who needed such help.

6. The thoughts and anxieties going on people’s mind was constantly tracked and where needed psychological help provided.

7. Employee outreach centers were opened where all help, food, water, sanitation, first aid and counseling was provided. 1600 employees were covered by this facility.

8. Every employee was assigned to one mentor and it was that person’s responsibility to act as a “single window” clearance for any help that the person required.

9. Ratan Tata personally visited the families of all the 80 employees who in some manner – either through injury or getting killed – were affected.

10.The dependents of the employees were flown from outside Mumbai to Mumbai and taken care off in terms of ensuring mental assurance and peace. They were all accommodated in Hotel President for 3 weeks.

11.Ratan Tata himself asked the families and dependents – as to what they wanted him to do.

12.In a record time of 20 days, a new trust was created by the Tatas for the purpose of relief of employees.

13.What is unique is that even the other people, the railway employees, the police staff, the pedestrians who had nothing to do with Tatas were covered by compensation. Each one of them was provided subsistence allowance of Rs. 10K per month for all these people for 6 months.

a. Full last salary for life for the family and dependents;

b. Complete responsibility of education of children and dependents – anywhere in the world.

c. Full Medical facility for the whole family and dependents for rest of their life.

d. All loans and advances were waived off – irrespective of the amount.

e. Counselor for life for each person

B. Epilogue

How was such passion created among the employees? How and why did they behave the way they did?

The organisation is clear that it is not something that someone can take credit for. It is not some training and development that created such behaviour. If someone suggests that – everyone laughs

It has to do with the DNA of the organisation, with the way Tata culture exists and above all with the situation that prevailed that time. The organization has always been telling that customers and guests are #1 priority

The hotel business was started by Jamshedji Tata when he was insulted in one of the British hotels and not allowed to stay there.

He created several institutions which later became icons of progress, culture and modernity. IISc is one such institute. He was told by the rulers that time that he can acquire land for IISc to the extent he could fence the same. He could afford fencing only 400 acres.

When the HR function hesitatingly made a very rich proposal to Ratan – he said – do you think we are doing enough?

The whole approach was that the organisation would spend several hundred crore in re-building the property – why not spend equally on the employees who gave their life?
This is NOT COVERED BY Any NEWS CHANNELS

Like JOKERS RUNNING AAJTAK, ZEE NEWS , IBN These People Busy SHOWING DOGS CATS and cricketers

Forward to all people who you know to show what Ratan Tata DID for his Employees and other Indians.

PASS ON TO YOUR FRIENDS!

LET THE WORLD KNOW WHAT IS "CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY"?

It is not that the government too odes not provide aid.
It is just that for every Rs 10/- which may be given to the victims, Rs 90/- is pocketed by the people who are supposed to distribute the aid.
Secondly, while the Tatas went about their job silently, our elected leaders carry the whole lot of news channels with TV crews with them to publicize their aid giving.
I would suggest that these big houses could be given the money to distribute the aid which the government plans to give.
It would be more effective and better utilized.
Most NGOs are also crooked people who are formed just to pocket the government largess.

Wikileaks

India Journal: What Is WikiLeaks Really Telling Us?
By Ranjani Iyer Mohanty
–Ranjani Iyer Mohanty is a writer and a business/academic editor.

There has been some surprising news recently. No, not the WikiLeaks story of what U.S. diplomats said in their private communiqués but rather the story that diplomats of other countries are shocked by the contents. If that’s true, they must be the only ones. Most of what’s in these cables has already been thoroughly discussed at numerous dinner parties by the general public.

Take some of the revelations. India sought closer ties with the U.S. because of China’s increasing aggressiveness…and so probably did most other neighbours of the growing superpower. Hillary Clinton called India a “self-appointed frontrunner” for permanent United Nations Security Council membership…along with Brazil, Germany, and Japan. Lashkar-e-Taiba had plans to use South India as a base and to assassinate Narendra Modi: we may not have known of this but thankfully the Indian intelligence agencies did.

There is no doubt that WikiLeaks serves a genuine need and a valuable purpose, such as when they revealed questionable procedures at Guantanamo Bay and foreshadowed Iceland’s financial crisis. However, unlike its claim of “bringing important news and information to the public” and publishing “material of ethical, political and historical significance” and “providing a universal way for the revealing of suppressed and uncensored injustices,” this time I feel they have brought us mostly obvious-toids of minor significance that reveal just annoying embarrassments. If we were privy to the day-to-day uncensored thoughts of any organization, or even any family, the results would make a great soap opera – but like most soaps, not the best use of our time.

I agree that private conversations and back-room dealings can be interesting. I would love to have been a fly on the wall when Gandhi, Nehru, and Jinnah were having a heart-felt talk about Churchill and Britain – when Khrushchev and his comrades were strategizing over Kennedy and Cuba – when Tony Blair and his advisors were discussing George Bush and Iraq. But some things are better said and done behind closed doors. If diplomacy is all about the art of conducting delicate negotiations and handling complicated affairs without arousing hostility, maybe WikiLeaks should just leave them to it. We should be finding ways to bring nations together, not push them further apart.

While the U.S. may have said some embarrassing (but not necessarily untrue) things about other countries, I’m sure other countries have said equally impolite, if not worse, things about the U.S. within the confines of their own borders and embassies. I would not be surprised if an Italian diplomat had made an unkind comment about Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky, if an Indian diplomat had made an impatient remark about the U.S. selling arms to Pakistan, or a Chinese diplomat had suggested that he enjoyed playing banker to the Americans.

While the majority of these leaks may have been diplomatic chit-chat, WikiLeaks promises to expose more information and of a more secretive nature, such as its recent release of a list of vital U.S. facilities. In the midst of the uproar, WikiLeaks’s purpose – beyond causing havoc and possibly supplying valuable information to unfriendly parties, all in the name of fighting injustice – is not always clear. Not all classified or private information is an injustice in the making.

I wonder if we could re-direct Wikileaks’s energies. For example, what may be really helpful to the world as a whole is if WikiLeaks could hack into and make public the communications of the LeT, the Taliban, or other groups planning terrorist activities. Maybe WikiLeaks could also reveal the ambitions of some of the less transparent and more unstable countries, which would indeed be a revelation. And here in India, wouldn’t it be nice to know who are the most corrupt politicians and the value of their Swiss bank account holdings?

Even if we haven’t learnt a lot from the latest set of WikiLeaks releases, one lesson is becoming increasing clear. Be careful what you email your office mate about your boss’s last party, what you email the head of the investment department about a fancy new financial instrument you’ve dreamed up that’s sure to make a killing, what you email your friend about your mother-in-law, and what you email anyone about climate change. Someone may be hacking you.

One thing is of interest to me.
Who is financing the work being done by Wikileaks.
As I see it Wikileaks is just raising a lot of dirt hoping it would destabize goverments but is serving no useful purpose.
Everybody is naked under his clothes so is Wikileaks.
I remember a story which was posted on our blog and was sent just recently by Arun Shroff.

One day the great philosopher came upon
an acquaintance who ran up to him excitedly and said,
"Socrates, do you know what I just heard
about one of your students?"

"Wait a moment," Socrates replied.
"Before you tell me I'd like you to pass a little test.
It's called the 'Test of Three'."
"Three?"
"That's right," Socrates continued.
"Before you talk to me about my student,
let's take a moment to test what you're going to say.
The first test is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure
that what you are about to tell me is true?"

"No," the man said, " actually I just heard about it."
"All right," said Socrates.
"So you don't really know if it's true or not."

"Now let's try the second test, the test of Goodness.
Is what you are about to tell me about
my student something good?"
"No, on the contrary..."
"So," Socrates continued,
"you want to tell me something bad about him
even though you're not certain it's true?"
The man shrugged, a little embarrassed.
Socrates continued. "You may still pass though,
because there is a third test - the filter of Usefulness.
Is what you want to tell me about my student
going to be useful to me?"
"No, not really..."
"Well," concluded Socrates,
"if what you want to tell me is neither True
nor Good nor even Useful, why tell it to me at all?"
The man was defeated and ashamed.

This is the reason Socrates was a great philosopher
and held in such high esteem.
